Kishtwar June 07: World Food Safety Day was celebrated with zest ,Zeal & fervor at TRC Kishtwar on monday by the Department of Food Safety Drugs & Food Control Organisation Kishtwar in collaboration with the Department of ICDS Kishtwar.
On the occasion awareness regarding meaning & proper implemention of Food Safety measures was deliberated at length.
During this event the frontliners of ICDS were given detailed awareness about the meaning of Food Safety besides insights about the fortification of food in ICDS & Mid Day meal was also given out.
CDPO Kishtwar Ifhat Ara presided over the occasion.
Taraq Ahmad Butt Assistant Commissioner Food Safety District Doda/ Kishtwar elaborated the topic of Food Safety, its Rules & regulations & also expanded the subject towards Eat Right challenge 2 including initiatives like Hygiene ratings,BHOG, RUCO, Hygienic practices, Sanitation, Cleanliness, Food Safety on wheels MFTV Surveillance testings,awareness, trainings ,Eat Right Campus,Eat Righto Schools ,Eat Right Schools,outreach, media publicity & promotion.
During the celebration the theme “Safer Food better Health” of Worlds Food Safety Day was explored in front of the participants including Enforcement staff, Food Safety Officers & Field worker who were at the helm of affairs to educate the public about the objectives of FSSA and Allied activities.
The Sr. Analyst Subhash & Assistant analyst lokash Gupta also imparted awareness, & trainings to the participants, Food Bussiness Operators, Consumers and public in general besides emphasised over the basic need of the implemention of the fortification.
It was narrated by the Taraq Ahmad Butt Assistant Commissioner, DFCO Kishtwar that one in ten people are effected due to Food borne diseases, besides four steps of Food Safety were highlighted including prevent of Food poisoning,Hygiene of personal & premises & products,to avoid contamination & its cross culture,Cooking food at Right temperature & its proper storage.
During the session pamphlets & brochures were distributed to the more than 200 participants besides schemes like poshan abhiyaan, Anaemia Mukt Bharat were discussed & affirmation was made for its implementation in letter & spirits.
