DC Kishtwar took first hand appraisal of the survey of the approach road to Proposed tunnel under widening of NH-244 at Singhpora
Kishtwar June 19: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today visited the Singhpora area of Chatroo Sub-Division to take first hand appraisal of progress of the survey on widening of National Highway-244 besides listened to the grievances and issues of the land owners there.
He was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar,GM NHIDCL Parveen Ahlawat besides other Concerned officers and officials.
During the Inspectional visit GM NHIDCL apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the current status of the survey for the widening of existing NH-244 and also enlightened about the hurdles and bottlenecks faced by executing agencies.
Meanwhile the local land owners also demanded for revisiting of the alignment of approaching road to said tunnel at Singhpora on rational basis as the current alignment is passing through the major chunk of irrigated land and engulfing residential houses thereby causing huge losses to locals.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar said that this Highway on completion will serve as all weather road connectivity hence sought for cooperation and coordination of locals in this regard.
He also said that he will take their genuine issues and the demands with the concerned authorities so that issues are resolved promptly and the work on the said NH244 is completed in the time bound manner without any impediments.
He further stressed GM NHIDCL to expedite the pace of survey on the said NH-244 so that it is completed in time frame manner.
