Kishtwar, June 08: A complete peaceful shutdown of a particular community was observed today in Kishtwar District against the blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by Nupur Sharma and some more people from Kishtwar mentioned Istand with Nupur Sharma on Facebook. Police registered FIR against them under relevant act.
All shops and other commercial establishments of Muslim community remained closed, while traffic also remained thick on the roads.
District Police Kishtwar made an additional deployment in the town and it’s adjoining areas as a precautionary measure. The shutdown however, was peaceful.
The shut down call was given by Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar,Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo who is also a Chairman of Majilis Shoura Commitee Kishtwar.
