Kishtwar, June 21: In the true spirit of “Yoga”, the Indian Army celebrated the 8th International Yoga Day at Iconic Chowgan Ground of Kishtwar (J&K) on 21 June 2022. Around 1000 enthusiastic people from all walks of life, troops from Army, Police and Paramilitary Forces & Students from Kishtwar District participated and jointly made this event a grand success.
The day was celebrated based on “Common Yoga Protocol” issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The event was graced by dignitaries, Shri. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Brigadier Pranab Misra, Commander, 9 Sector RR, Shri. Shafquat Hussain, SSP, Colonel Ameya Chiplunkar, CO, 17 Rashtriya Rifles, Shri. Rahul, Commandant CISF, Shri. Prama Shivan, Commandant CRPF in Kishtwar Sector.
The event was led by renowned Mumbai based yoga instructor Jahnavi Patwardhan from ‘SARVA YOGA’ who explained the benefits of yoga exercises for prevention of lifestyle diseases and stress management. Event culminated with presentation of Memento, Certificate and vote of thanks by Deputy Commissioner.
