Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar organised an awareness programme on International Day of Girl Child
Kishtwar: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Devansh Yadav (IAS) and under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer Kishtwar, Sh. Zubair Ahmed (JKAS) , International Day of Girl Child awareness program was organised by District Child Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar.
On the occasion, Protection Officer (Institutional Care), DCPU Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar, Deepika Bhandari said that the day is not far when girl child will maintain her individuality with no external pressures and further excel in every sphere of her life.
She stressed that nations need to pledge to assist young girls to grow into empowered women, who have access to proper healthcare, skill-based learning facilities and equal opportunities in a world free from gender-based violence and discrimination.
She said that Juvenile Justice Act is also focusing on the child rights and said that District Child protection unit Kishtwar are spreading awareness in the district with the objective to empower girl child and enable them to enjoy their rights so that they can face the challenges in life and meet their needs.
She said that women are the primary caretakers of the children and elders in every country of the world. International research and studies demonstrate that when the economy and political organization of a society change, women take the lead in helping the family adjust to new realities and challenges.
Principal Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar, Sunita Sharma, Social Workers DCPU Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar Saima Kousar and Meenakshi Sharma spoke on the occasion.
