Awareness program on Nasha Mukht Bharat, Child rights, protection, Childline and organised by Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar
Role of teachers also highlighted on the occasion of Teachers Day
Kishtwar, Sept 05 : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh.Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS) and under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer Kishtwar, Sh. Zubair Ahmed , the department of Mission Vatsalya, organized a programme today by District Child Protection Unit Kishtwar at Divine Light High School Kishtwar to create awareness on the eve of Teachers Day among students, teachers about Nasha Mukht Bharat , Child Rights and raising awareness regarding use of 1098, helpline and child rights, protection for children besides discussed role of District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Commitee and Juvenile Justice Board.
During the programme, Sh. Touseef Iqbal Butt (Protection Officer-Non Institutional Care) spoke at length on the issues related to crimes against children like child marriage, child sexual abuse, child labour and good and bad touch etc. He also explained the role of teachers to students as today the teachers day and students were celebrating it during the session.
He also highlighted the measures taken by of the government like childline and child welfare committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) . He said it is the responsibility of the each and every person of the society to protect the rights of the children.
He highlighted the need to thoroughly understand POCSO Act and JJ Act and urged the society to come forward while bringing out welfare of the children among society. He emphasised that the purpose of awareness towards the children right is important for the children for them to know the things that they deserve to get as children.
Others who were present Pushap Chander Sharma (Principal of the School) along with teaching and non teaching staff,Meenakshi Sharma and Saima Kousar and Meenakshi Sharma (Social Workers) respectively.
